Cards for Hearts
Event Overview
Heart to Heart's first "Cards for Hearts" event was a heartfelt effort to bring smiles and hope to cardiac patients. Held at McPherson Park, the event gathered volunteers of all ages who wanted to make a difference. Their mission was simple but powerful: create meaningful cards to remind patients facing heart disease that they are not alone.
Creating the Cards
The event began with tables full of colorful art supplies—markers, stickers, paper, and more. Volunteers, driven by compassion, made over 70 unique cards with messages like "Keep going, you are strong!" and "Sending love and smiles!" Each card was carefully crafted to bring encouragement and warmth.
Spreading Hope
Once completed, the volunteers delivered the cards to the cardiology floor of Texas Health HEB hospital. There, they handed them out to patients, offering kind words and smiles. The cards brought comfort, showing patients that they were supported and cared for during their difficult journeys.
Coming Together
In addition to spreading hope, the event also raised over $100 to support Heart to Heart's future efforts. Volunteers bonded, shared stories, and reflected on the power of small acts of kindness to make a big difference.
The "Cards for Hearts" event was a reminder of what a caring community can achieve together. Heart to Heart plans to continue bringing people together, raising awareness, and supporting those affected by heart disease—one thoughtful card at a time.
